Small is a feature
Why Code Cooks chooses a small software team: direct conversations, clear ownership, and a deep commitment to useful work.
Small is a choice about how you work.
It means the person asking the difficult question can also be the person opening the editor. An idea can move from a conversation to a working version without passing through five different interpretations. Context stays close to the people making decisions.
That does not make the work easy. A small team has to be honest about its limits. It has to choose what matters, say when something is outside its experience, and make room for the unglamorous work that keeps software useful.
Think of a good kitchen. Everyone understands the dish. Everyone knows what they are responsible for. When something needs attention, someone takes care of it. The quality comes from judgment, preparation, and people who care about what leaves the room.
That is the kind of company we want Code Cooks to be.
We want enough space to understand a problem properly. Enough ownership to see the work through. Enough curiosity to build things of our own, then share what those experiments teach us.
Growth can mean better questions, deeper understanding, and stronger work. It can mean having the freedom to choose a worthwhile problem.
Small leaves room for all of that. We intend to use it.
